The inherent eroticism of the Battle Couple

Ogh to trust someone to have your back and you theirs, thus acting as a single entity in battle with twice the strengths and half the weaknesses of the two parts combined…

I recently rewatched the “Tales of Leo” episode in tmnt ‘03 (s1 e19), and the way Leo’s first words on waking up were “No… fear!” kinda got to me, and I had this crazy thought–did Raph only start calling Leo “Fearless” after that episode?

So I sat down today and did a little research in the transcripts, and from what I can tell….

Yeah.

That’s exactly what happened.

when someone casually drops, as an aside, an interpretation of canon that is so incredibly off-base as to make you struggle to comprehend how they got there, and they say it like it’s right there in the text and obvious

and you just kinda gotta drag yourself away before you can climb into their askbox and demand an explanation

this was about someone confidently stating that the teenage mutant ninja turtles’ family practices human sacrifice

I know I shouldn’t ask but I can’t help it. What fucked-up chain of reasoning leads you to a place like that.

Hilariously, the chain of reasoning’s not actually as fucked-up as I made it sound for comedic effect! In Rise of the TMNT (the 2018 one), the human side of their family has a tradition of self-sacrifice that, due to the way the show got abruptly cancelled, doesn’t have time to be elaborated upon at all. The incomprehensibility only comes in when I try to understand the mental leap from “upbringing that values dying for the greater good” to “literally sacrificing certain members of the family to a not-demon when they meet certain criteria”.

(To be fair, it’s also entirely possible I just wandered into someone’s AU-specific blog and I’m the dumbass here. Hence why I did not send them an ask.)
